Templates for Sapo Blogs

A picture

When I was invited to create templates for Sapo’s blog platform, I was really excited at the opportunity of finally creating something totally clear from client constraints. As it turned out, it’s a lot harder for me to work in such a free manner. Staring at the blank canvas, it felt a bit more like art than design, but once I got started, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of making completely different styles for the same layout.

The first six templates are finally available for the platform users to chose for their blogs. You can see them here:

Are you serious?, a darker theme to start.
Shinny Happy People, for bubbly teenagers.
The Gazette, to spread the news.
Missangas, for all the crafty people that want to share their creations.
Writing on the wall, for travelers and cat lovers.
Sketchbook, a spin-off of my own site, as requested by Jonasnuts.

These are just preview pages, all filled up with lipsum, the real thrill will be finding real blogs using these templates. If you find some, please leave me a comment with a url, I’d love to check out who my real clients are, after all.

On another note, if you are a Sapo Blogs user, you can also leave suggestions for future templates, I’m looking forward to the second round.

Drinks 4 Schools

When the UK new drinks standards for schools came out, I was asked to create a website to promote the healthy brands Tropicana, Tropicana Go! and PJ Smoothies. The challenge was to incorporate the three brands’ very distinct looks and fragmented snippets of information without losing the website’s consistency. To achieve that, it was made to look like a school notice board, full of stickers, pins, post-it notes and handwritten scraps, tying in the three juice brands with the school theme.

Copella Christmas Goodies

A picture

For the Copella fruit juices website Christmas update, I was asked to create a series of printable goodies, such as greeting cards, gift tags, table settings, shopping and to do lists… and recipes. All with the traditional Copella feel, lots of apples and Christmasy decoration and a bit of the season’s quirkiness and chaos.

The recipes were particularly fun to do, because I’m so obsessed with food. I ended up creating, cooking and photographing them, as well as designing the recipe cards. I will be posting them on the Recipe Book soon, but meanwhile please visit the Copella website and grab them now.
