11.11.2008 / Há vida em Markl
After having the old and beloved template up for a couple of years, Nuno Markl asked me to redesign his blog in order to make it a bit more sober and minimalistic. It had been decided we’d lose the hand drawings and white background, and instead use a cleaner interface.
To avoid losing a graphic connection to the author, I’ve created a small Markl Universe where small icons that relate to past work and episodes orbit around the header. Hardcore fans will identify all pieces of the puzzle, most readers won’t recognise all. Over time, a few of the icons may even change, being recycled as new objects come into play.
Thanks to everyone at Blogs do Sapo for taking care of all the coding.
17.06.2008 / Haagen-Dazs “Sets and the City”
Häagen-Dazs are celebrating the launch of a Summer special edition ice-cream with a Wimbledon Tennis Tournament tie-in in the heart of London City, complete with a giant screen to watch the matches, sexy model waiters, celebrity chef appearances, complimentary beauty treatments, and lots of yummy ice-cream.
With a wink to the glitz and glamour of the Sex and the City film coming out this summer, I finally had a chance to create some sexy illustrations for the temporary website that will be promoting this event. Even better, I was allowed to use great amounts of pink! Have to love this job!
18.03.2008 / Drinks 4 Schools
When the UK new drinks standards for schools came out, I was asked to create a website to promote the healthy brands Tropicana, Tropicana Go! and PJ Smoothies. The challenge was to incorporate the three brands’ very distinct looks and fragmented snippets of information without losing the website’s consistency. To achieve that, it was made to look like a school notice board, full of stickers, pins, post-it notes and handwritten scraps, tying in the three juice brands with the school theme.
12.12.2007 / Copella Christmas Goodies
For the Copella fruit juices website Christmas update, I was asked to create a series of printable goodies, such as greeting cards, gift tags, table settings, shopping and to do lists… and recipes. All with the traditional Copella feel, lots of apples and Christmasy decoration and a bit of the season’s quirkiness and chaos.
The recipes were particularly fun to do, because I’m so obsessed with food. I ended up creating, cooking and photographing them, as well as designing the recipe cards. I will be posting them on the Recipe Book soon, but meanwhile please visit the Copella website and grab them now.
31.05.2007 / Pj Smoothies
When I saw PJs new packaging for the first time, I was even happier that I was designing their website. That logo was screaming for an animation, and that rugged hand drawn look wanted to spread out into something bigger.
