I was expecting a seriously dull weekend. With most of my friends out of Lisbon or otherwise busy, I was in a mood for partying, but had no plans whatsoever. Then, out of the blue, a friend I hadn’t seen in ages came to my rescue, and I ended up having an awesome time, two nights in a row.
Decisions, decisions… In the city that never sleeps, how fancy does the accommodation have to be? With all there is to see, I don’t intend to spend much time in bed anyway.
In a few years time, I’ll surely be flying to New York first class and staying at the Waldorf Astoria. But for now, seeing as I’m not swimming in a pool of dollars (yet), should I splash out on an ensuite private bedroom, or save my money for shopping?
My hand was kind of shaky when I pressed the button. Suddenly, there were butterflies in my stomach. I finally dared make New York more than just one of those things I keep saying I’ll do, eventually.
… I’m leaving, not today, but soon.
For the first time in a couple of years, I’m having a proper vacation. In October, on my own, for two weeks, in New York City.
I’m a total New York virgin, so all help is welcome. What should I see, where should I stay, what can’t I miss?
I know, I know, the Crystal Skull is so last season, Batman is all the rage now (and with good reason, if I may say so). But I just read a funny review, and thought I might share it anyway… hoping I don’t offend any blogging gods with my untimely post.
