Is it just me, or is Cookie an appropriate name for a cat who likes to sit in places like this?

Muffin and Cookie go artistic

A picture

- Cookie, I’m bored. Since Pat placed a net over the window, I can’t jump out. And it’s such a nice day outside!

- I know, Muff, I’m bored too.

-I have an idea, lets be artists! I want to do an art installation!

-Great idea, what do you have in mind?

-See that round Ikea paper lamp? That’s so uninteresting, everybody has one… I’m going to personalize it. If I go on that table, I can just reach it with a jump. See? Beautiful!

-Yeah! Let me have a go too! That’s so much fun! There, what do you think? One of a kind!

-Awesome! Think Pat will like it?

Even cats fall in love

Birds chirrup in the trees, bees buzz by, and the two maiden cats dream idly on the windowsill. Springtime surrounds them with light, warmth and cheer. Suddenly something draws their attention to the ground. A dazzling and dashing young cat of black velvet fur and bright button eyes serenades them through the gate, and steals the heart of the eldest cat.

Out of reach in her tower, the fair maiden has no choice but to watch the handsome pretender sulk away. Alone again, she dreams on…

No escape.

Beautiful sunny Sunday outside, but work got me trapped at home. The office window wide open, to let the elements in, left nonetheless a feeling of being caged, due to the anti-burglar iron grid. On the windowsill, looking out, the cats must have felt the same.

Stepping outside with my camera, made the cats want to stretch through and join me on the other side. But my break had to be short, and in a few moments, I was back in captivity, gazing out, melancholic like them.

No escaping today.

Cat yoga #1

What are you looking at? I need to concentrate on the exercise, ok?

I get by with a little help from…

…my cats, of course.

Yesterday I turned my living room into a little improvised photo studio, so I could take some food shots for a project I’m working on (more on that soon). While I was fiddling with the light and the camera settings, Cookie and Muffin decided to investigate the set, and make sure everything was in order. They also investigated the Christmas decorations I was using as props, the cables, the plants and the lights. They even tried to taste the food, but that was going a bit too far with the helping out.

Then, they were kind enough to retire to the bedroom and sleep for the rest of the day, leaving me to do the job. The little angels. Not.
