As a kid, I would spend all my school recesses and lunch breaks quietly reading in a corner. (No, I wasn’t very popular with the other kids…). I used to spend the Summer holidays with my grandparents and Avó Lena would take me to the local library, where I ‘d pick some old classics from the children’s section, with the help of an even older librarian. Needless to say, I loved the Famous Five, the Secret Seven, and anything else by Enid Blyton but I particularly liked the O’Sulivan Twins - As Gémeas, in portuguese.

I was, of course, very excited when I was approached by Oficina do Livro to create the covers for a new edition of the O’Sullivan Twins’ collection. I hadn’t done any children’s illustration for a while (or any book covers, thinking of it) and I would be recreating that old universe of a British boarding school in the fifties, with dorm rooms, uniforms and strange sports.
I received the first two books with today’s mail, and I’m really pleased with the result. (A bit disappointed that my credits were left out by mistake, though). The books will hit the shops very soon.
